Recycle Myanmar has been helping Myanmar go green since 2013. However, the impact was limited as the client was constrained by budget and the reach.  

nexlabs’ strategy and UX team conducted a research program and identified that there was an opportunity to create a network of “trash-pickers” to collect recyclables. The solution was a simple to use two-sided marketplace between households and “trash-pickers” (such as Uber / Grab) to schedule the recyclable pickups.  

Since the launch in mid-2019, more than 80 tonnes of waste have been picked up per day and recycled through the platform.
